…charcoal and charcoal briquettes:
Solid firelighters: Depending on the size of your grill, place one or several firelighters on a small layer of charcoal or charcoal briquettes. Allow the firelighters to burn for approx. 1-2 minutes before carefully adding more charcoal or charcoal briquettes. While doing so, take care not to extinguish the firelighters.
When using liquid firelighters, proceed as follows: Pour the liquid evenly over the charcoal or charcoal briquettes.
Let it soak for approx. 1-2 minutes before igniting the fuel.
Firewood:
First of all, open the fireplace air supply completely. Arrange some firewood in the centre of your fireplace. Depending on the amount of wood, place several pieces of coal or charcoal lighters on top of it. Offering special organic fireplace lighters made of wood shavings and wax, BOOMEX also caters for environmentally conscious people. Firelighters are best ignited using a long match or long stem lighter.
After the firelighters are completely lit, add further pieces of firewood. While doing so, take care not to extinguish the firelighters. Once the firewood is properly ignited, and as soon as it is lightly glowing, you may add small pieces of wood and gradually increase the size of the logs. By the way, we strongly advise against using newspaper as a firelighter.
